To that end, we wanted to present some reasons why you should consider giving Ubisoft+ a try. We also think there’s precedent for why you should wait to try it. So with that said, here’s 3 reasons why you should try Ubisoft+ right now, and 3 reasons why you should wait.
Why you should try Ubisoft+ right now
It’s awesome
Getting down to brass tax here. Ubisoft+ is awesome. There’s a pretty decent collection of games in there you can download or stream (depending on which platform you use to play the games). This includes newer releases like Riders Republic and Far Cry 6. As well as a wide collection of games from the past couple decades. All of Ubisoft’s big franchises are there, including the entire Assassin’s Creed series of titles from the original all the way up to Valhalla. Even off shoots like Assassin’s Creed Chronicles are there. Plus, you can play any of the games available in the service as much as you want as long as your subscription is active.
So you can start building up rewards
One of the cool little perks of Ubisoft+ is you can unlock rewards the longer you’re subscribed. You’ll unlock bronze rewards at one month. Following bronze, silver rewards come at two months. Then gold rewards at four months, and finally platinum rewards at seven months. So if you try it out now and love it, then you’ll start building up some cool rewards faster. And who knows, that might come in handy for you when the service launches officially for consoles presumably later this year. One thing to keep in mind is that rewards do have a shelf life. So if you do try out Ubisoft+ and you decide to keep the subscription going, be sure to check in with the rewards at least once a month to see what’s there for you to claim. Otherwise you may lose it.
To play any new content before more games come out
Some games in the Ubisoft+ library will have new content that was recently released. Such as Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s Dawn Of Ragnarok expansion. It’s not a bad idea to test out the service now. That way you can play that content while it’s still fairly new. Especially if you have a backlog of games you’ve been interested in playing and want to get them out of the way before other games are released later this year.
Why you may want to wait
There are no trial deals available
That trial is no longer available. But that doesn’t mean there won’t be any popping up at any time. Basically, waiting could reward you with some savings.
Ubisoft may add separate plans for console
The hope is that when Ubisoft releases Ubisoft+ for PlayStation and Xbox, that they’ll be added into the multi-platform plan. And if that’s the case, then that plan becomes a better deal at $17.99 a month. Since you’d be able to play games on PC, Stadia, Luna, PlayStation, and Xbox. However, there may end up being separate plans for consoles. PlayStation and Xbox could even end up getting their own plans separate from each other. If you plan to play on PlayStation or Xbox, you may want to wait to try things out until you know if they’re going to be bundled in with the multi-platform plan.
There’s no games you really want to play
The last reason you may want to wait to check this service out is that there simply may not be any games you want to play. Ubisoft doesn’t necessarily have any noteworthy games on the horizon for 2022 with concrete release dates. It does however have a few games that look very promising which could still release this year. Including Skull and Bones, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, and The Division Heartland. Ubisoft+
