One of those ways is through cosmetic armor, which Diablo Immortal players will be able to acquire in a number of ways. Cosmetic armor is not the only way to transform your looks, however. Armor can also go through a visual upgrade as players level up their legendary gems to increase the Resonance stat. As the resonance on each gem increases, armor and weapons can shift to reflect the newfound power. Taking on a more sinister appearance than with the base look. All of these visual-related elements are part of Diablo Immortal’s continually changing visual identity. Blizzard says that with any living game, it wants Diablo Immortal’s visual identity to evolve. While that happens, it wants players to have the freedom to change their characters’ looks as well.

Some Diablo Immortal cosmetic armor will be free, some will not

As you may have guessed, not all cosmetic armor in the game will be free of charge. This shouldn’t surprise anyone though. As the dev team talked about this earlier on. Today, Blizzard is giving a little more information on how cosmetics will work, how often players can acquire them, and how they can acquire them. For starters, some cosmetics will be available through the battle pass as unlockable rewards. But some cosmetics will be available to buy from the shop. Blizzard hasn’t forgotten about the freebies either. As part of a pre-registration reward, players have a chance to unlock a free cosmetic set called the Living Legacy set. There’s also an exclusive cosmetic set for Immortal faction players which unlocks as that faction’s dominance stat increases. Players can expect a new cosmetic set for each class every single month. At least, that’s Blizzard’s plan.

Legendary gem resonance and class changing

There are two more elements coming to the game that players need to be aware of. The first is the legendary gem resonance that was briefly touched on above. As you level up your legendary gems in the game, and raise the resonance stat, you’ll unlock evolving visual elements to alter the look of your gear. You can see some concepts of how that looks in the images above. Additionally, Blizzard plans on making a Class Change ability available post launch. Where players will be able to change their class to try out another one without losing their character’s progress. Blizzard states that when you change to a new class, you’ll keep all of your paragon level progress. Players will also get a new set of equipped items that are “class appropriate,” and gems and item progress can be transferred to them. Equipped items from your previous class will be placed in your stash along with any gear you acquired while on that class. Which means you don’t have to worry about losing it. Should you choose to change back, it will still be there waiting for you.
