The October 2021 security update is currently live for the carrier-locked Galaxy S20 units in the US. Notably, the unlocked units have also recently started receiving the latest security patch. Samsung introduced the Galaxy S20 series back in 2020. It came with all the bells and whistles you would expect from a premium flagship device. Sadly, the size of the update is not known at the moment. We advise you to download the update over a stable mobile data or Wi-Fi connection to avoid any errors. The update is rolling out via OTA in batches. So, it would take some time to be live for all devices on all networks. The good thing is you could manually check for it if you have an eligible Galaxy S20 device receiving the update. Simply head over to the Settings menu on your phone. Then navigate to System Update and hit the Download and Install button. If the update is live for your device, then you can tap on the notification to begin the download on your phone.
