Elon Musk may make Twitter’s edit button available for free

As some of you know, it’s now possible to edit tweets on Twitter, but only if you’re a Twitter Blue subscriber. In other words, if you’re not paying $4.99 a month, you’re out of luck. Also, editing replies to tweets is not possible in general. Another thing worth noting is that editing tweets is currently only available in the US, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. You have 30 minutes after you’ve tweeted something to edit it, and people are able to see a revision history afterwards. Now, as some of you already know, Elon Musk announced his new plans for Twitter Blue. The subscription will cost $8 a month, not $4.99 it currently does. It will get you that verified badge, and a number of other perks. So, is it possible that editing tweets will be available outside of that subscription? Well, yes. Elon Musk did not mention tweet editing at all when he announced a new Twitter Blue subscription. He did seem very involved in it before he acquired Twitter, and right before Twitter actually announced the feature for Twitter Blue subscribers. He even sent out a poll regarding it. Elon Musk is very aware of the popularity of that feature.

The editing feature may see some additional changes down line

We may even see some changes in the future, actually. That’s not something that was reported, but it’s possible. Those changes may not arrive straight away, but quite a few people complained because they can’t edit every tweet, only the main one. Replies are off limits. Who knows, Twitter may change that as well, down the line. One thing is for sure, a lot of changes are coming to Twitter. Elon Musk is not wasting any time.
