The results culminate from a two-week period of donations from Microsoft and Epic Games. Both companies donated all proceeds from around the launch of the latest Fortnite Season until today. For clarity, that’s all proceeds for Battle Passes, Fortnite Crew subscriptions, and gift card redemptions. As well as V-Bucks purchases. The raised funds will be sent to Direct Relief, UNICEF, UN World Food Program, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, and World Central Kitchen.

Epic, Microsoft, and Fortnite players aren’t the only ones raising money in the tech world

Now, Epic and Microsoft’s efforts with raising funds for Ukraine via Fortnite haven’t been the only such pushes from the tech industry. Other companies have shown support for Ukraine following Russia’s invasion as well. With companies both halting sales and production within Russia as well as halting services. That includes services such as Google Pay and Apple Pay, for example. While Samsung, Sony, and others have stopped sales in the region, effectively pulling out of Russia. Google has also been among the tech giants involved in raising funds specifically for humanitarian relief. Not only via direct funding, with Google.org offering to match donations up to $5 million. That effort will come to a close on April 30. But also via a public campaign to raise awareness of ongoing campaigns. And with changes to some of its apps, such as Google Maps, aimed at keeping users in Ukraine safer. Together with the Fortnite community and @Xbox, we raised $144 million USD for @DirectRelief @UNICEF, @WFP, @Refugees and @WCKitchen. pic.twitter.com/lPAa8lmfJn — Fortnite (@FortniteGame) April 4, 2022
