ESPN+ has just signed a deal with the NCAA’s Sun Belt Conference, to broadcast a ton of their games. This deal will bring about 6,000 or more live sporting events to the ESPN+ platform. And it will last through the 2030-31 season. This deal expands on the existing agreement that ESPN had with the Sun Belt Conference, which would broadcast football on ESPN’s linear offerings. This is actually a big deal for the Sun Belt Conference, one of the smaller conferences in college football, as they will get more eyes on their games.

ESPN continues to expand its content library with deals

This comes after ESPN+ announced it would be carrying every Canadian football game in the 2022 season. And it is the exclusive home for the newly resurrected XFL. The XFL will also air on ABC, ESPN, ESPN2 and FX. ESPN has also gotten expansions of NHL and MLB content in the past year. Which is helping ESPN+ grow with more content, and that should lead to more subscribers. With all of this new content coming to ESPN+, they had to raise the price on the service. It was originally $4.99, which was a steal, though at the time, there wasn’t much good content available. Over the past few years, ESPN+ has worked hard to expand its library of content and has also gotten exclusive rights to the UFC. Not only broadcasting UFC events, but also being the exclusive provider of its PPV events. While ESPN+ is now going to be $9.99 per month starting next month, it’s likely still better to get the Disney+ Bundle. The bundle is still just $14 per month, and you get Disney+, ESPN+ and Hulu. Or you can pay $20 per month to get ad-free Hulu. Which is an incredible deal, especially with ESPN+ now costing $10.
