The very first foldable smartphone from OPPO is coming soon, it seems

The tipster did mention that the device will be of the in-folding variety. In other words, its foldable display will be protected when folded, unlike the approach Huawei took with the Mate X. Something else that the tipster said, is that we can expect an 8-inch main panel to be included. That foldable display will offer a 120Hz refresh rate, and it will be an LTPO panel, it seems. In other words, it will support variable / adaptive refresh rate. The last piece of information he shared has to do with the included SoC. This smartphone will, allegedly, be fueled by the Snapdragon 888 SoC. That is one of the two most powerful SoCs Qualcomm has to offer at the moment.

65W charging may be included, along with a 50MP main camera

Now, according to earlier rumors, this smartphone may include a 4,500mAh battery on the inside. 65W fast wired charging was also mentioned, as was ColorOS 12. Another rumor suggested that the device may include a 50-megapixel camera from Sony. To be more precise, the Sony IMX766 sensor was mentioned. A 32-megapixel selfie camera may also be included, along with a side-facing fingerprint scanner. That is basically everything that is rumored when it comes to this smartphone. Based on its foldable display size, we presume it will resemble the Galaxy Z Fold 3 to a degree. It will likely open up like a book, and have a secondary display on the outside. Don’t’ expect this smartphone to be cheap, though. It will offer high-end specs, not to mention that foldables are still not exactly affordable. It remains to be seen how much will it cost, but we do expect it to cost less than the Galaxy Z Fold 3.
