The first Galaxy Z Fold 3 update brings various optimizations to the table

This update is labeled “F926BXXU1AUGB”, and there are no big changes here. This is basically an update that is supposed to tweak a bunch of software-related stuff, to make the phone even more stable for release day. That’s something we’re used to seeing from Samsung. Details regarding those optimizations were not shared. Android security patch for July 2021 is also included in the package. Samsung may have the August 2021 security patch ready to go as well, really soon. That patch should be waiting for you when you get the device.

Samsung will start shipping pre-orders on August 27

Samsung will start shipping Galaxy Z Fold 3 pre-orders on August 27. So, the company still has plenty of time to deliver the August security update to the device. It already did it for a number of its phones, so the Z Fold 3 is probably next in line. Once you receive the phone, the update will probably pop up to you the moment you connect to the Internet. If not, you can always manually check for it. Navigate to Settings -> Software update -> Download and install. The Galaxy Z Fold 3 arrived with a number of other products from Samsung. The company also announced the Galaxy Z Flip 3, Watch 4, Watch 4 Classic, and Buds 2 during the same press event. The Z Fold 3 is the most expensive of the bunch, and the one that Samsung put the most focus on. The Galaxy Z Flip 3 does seem to be more popular from the get-go, but it remains to be seen what will happen in a couple of months. The Z Fold 3 is the first smartphone from the company to offer an under-display camera, and the first-ever foldable to feature stylus support. It is kind of supposed to replace a Galaxy Note-branded phone this year.
