Same display but more cameras and better processor
The Galaxy A04s features a 6.5-inch display with HD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. The screen has a waterdrop notch housing a front-facing camera, all covered by Gorilla Glass 3. The bezels around the display are quite wide but that’s to be expected on budget devices. All this gives the phone an identical look to the Galaxy A04 from the front. But the two models still differ in numerous other areas. Firstly, the upcoming device has three cameras at the back. Along with the 50MP primary camera and 2MP depth sensor, it also gets a 2MP macro camera. The selfie camera sitting inside the waterdrop notch is still a 5MP sensor, though. Elsewhere. Samsung has embedded a fingerprint scanner into the power button on the right side. The Galaxy A04 doesn’t have it. Coming to the processor, the Galaxy A04s reportedly features Samsung’s in-house Exynos 850 processor. It’s an upgrade over the Unisoc SC9863A found inside the vanilla model. The new report mentions 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage but that appears to be the base variant. The device should come in more memory configurations. Samsung will also include micro SD card support for up to 1TB of expandable storage. Since the two handsets are pretty much of the same shape and size, the battery capacity remains unchanged. We still have a 5,000mAh battery inside the Galaxy A04s. It is said to charge at 15W speed over a USB Type-C port.
Galaxy A04s price & availability
According to the new report, Samsung will price the Galaxy A04s base variant at €179 in Europe. It will reportedly come in Noir and Blanc color options. Unfortunately, we don’t yet have a precise launch date for the phone. But considering the volume of leaks lately, and the amount of information revealed, we wouldn’t be surprised if Samsung silently lists the phone on its website soon. Note that Samsung also has yet to reveal the pricing and availability details for the Galaxy A04. The phone has been simply listed on its website complete with key specs. Based on the rumored Galaxy A04s price, we expect it to sell for about €149-159. We will let you know when we have more information.
