According to SamMobile, Samsung has started rolling out the September security update to a bunch of devices recently. Namely, the Galaxy S21, Galaxy Note 20, Galaxy S10, Galaxy Z Fold 3, Galaxy Z Flip 3, Galaxy A72, and the Galaxy A52 are now receiving the new SMR in various countries across the world. The rollout began over the past few days and should expand to more regions in the coming weeks. The new firmware versions are as follows: Galaxy S21 series: G99xBXXS3AUHD in Europe; Galaxy Note 20: N98xxXXS3DUH5 in Brazil; Galaxy S10: G97xFXXSCFUH5 in Switzerland; Galaxy Z Fold 3: F926BXXU1AUHF in Australia; Galaxy Z Flip 3: F711BXXU2AUI1 in Ireland; Galaxy A72: A725FXXU4AUH2 in Russia; Galaxy A52: A525FXXU4AUH3 in India. All of these devices should be soon receiving the new update in more regions. Note that the firmware version numbers may vary according to market and carrier.
More Samsung Galaxy smartphones pick up the September security update
Samsung has consistently put every other android OEM to shame with its security update rollout pace. One week into September, the Korean firm has already pushed this month’s SMR to over a dozen smartphone models. Many more will be joining in the coming days. We don’t yet have any information about what vulnerabilities have been fixed with this month’s SMR. But we should get to know that soon. We will surely let you know once Samsung publishes the latest security bulletin. As for new features, don’t be hopeful of any. Samsung would now be saving all the new features for the Android 12-based One UI 4.0. The company begins public beta for the Galaxy S21 series later this month. So we’ll soon know what the company has in store for the next major iteration of its custom Android skin. Nonetheless, if you’re holding any of the aforementioned Samsung smartphones, you can expect a new software update to hit your phone anytime now if it hasn’t already.
