There’s plenty to look forward to in the latest software package for the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and Galaxy S21 Ultra. Firstly, Samsung is letting you capture hyperlapse videos using your phone’s 3X telephoto zoom camera. This feature was debuted with One UI 5.0 beta and is already available on the Galaxy Z Fold 4. If you frequently use your phone’s built-in QR code scanner, you’ll find it easier to use following this update. Samsung has significantly enlarged the scanning area within the camera viewfinder, so you don’t have to precisely fit the code into a small area. This would allow for faster scanning. You can now also scan a QR code that you previously dismissed. The Galaxy S21 phones didn’t allow that before. Once you dismiss a QR scan, you cannot scan it again. Samsung has also addressed another issue with QR scanning. Earlier, you couldn’t scan a code within a document if the camera recognizes the latter ahead of the former. You can now read QR codes within recognized documents too. This update also improves the overall image quality of the Galaxy S21 phones thanks to software optimizations. Along with these camera improvements, Samsung’s Galaxy S21 phones are also getting a couple of messaging-related new features. Firstly, you can now collectively view multiple images sent or received through messages at once. You are also getting message notification registration in group chats (via).

The big camera update is now rolling out to the Galaxy S21 series

Galaxy S21 users in South Korea are receiving this huge camera update with firmware version G99*NKSU3CVH7. That for German users is G99xBXXU5CVH7. As said earlier, all Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S22 users around the world, including in the US, should receive this camera update within the next few days. As usual, the update will roll out over the air (OTA) to eligible units. You will receive a notification once the OTA package is ready for your phone. You can also manually check for updates from the Settings app. Simply go to the Software update menu and tap on Download and install. If the update is not available, wait a few more days.
