The Galaxy Z Flip 3 was the first Samsung smartphone to come in a Bespoke Edition. It allowed users to customize the device with unique color combinations for the back panels and the frame. You could choose from two colors for the frame — silver and black, and five for the back panels — blue, yellow, pink, white, and black. Overall, it made for 49 different color combinations. Samsung even bagged the CES 2022 design award for this phone. If there was any complaint with the Galaxy Z Flip 3 Bespoke Edition, then that is its limited availability. The limited-edition clamshell foldable is currently available to purchase in seven countries only — Australia, Canada, France, Germany, South Korea, the UK, and the US. Samsung is now looking to address this shortcoming this year. The new report suggests the Galaxy Z Flip 4 Bespoke Edition will go on sale in a lot more countries through Samsung’s online store. Leading markets across Europe and Asia will reportedly get the customizable phone. As for colors, there’s no confirmation of how many different combinations Samsung would offer this year. But, the new report says “a lot more” than the 49 color combinations we got last time. Even one additional color for each half of the back panel and the frame would significantly increase the number of possible combinations. So it’s not a difficult task. It will be interesting to see what Samsung has in store.
The Galaxy Z Flip 4 should arrive in August
If rumors are to be believed, Samsung is planning to unveil the Galaxy Z Flip 4 on August 10. The Galaxy Z Fold 4 and the Galaxy Watch 5 series should also arrive alongside the clamshell foldable. But it’s unclear if the company will also announce the Bespoke Edition on the same day. Aside from the customizable back panels and the frame, there will be no other difference between the regular Galaxy Z Flip 4 and the Bespoke Edition. You will get the same hardware and software. The customizations come at a cost though. Last year’s offering was priced at $100 more than the regular Galaxy Z Flip 3 which started at $999. It remains to be seen how differently Samsung will price the 2022 offerings.
