The Korean firm has confirmed to The Verge that replacing the foldable display on the Galaxy Z Fold 3 will cost $479. The Flip 3’s inner display costs $369. That’s down from $549 and $499 the company charged for screen replacement for the Fold 2 and the original Flip, respectively. But it’s still quite costly compared to conventional smartphones. For reference, the Galaxy S21 Ultra screen replacement costs $289 out of warranty. The outer displays on the new foldables aren’t as much costly though. Samsung charges $149 and $99 for replacing the secondary display on the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Flip 3 respectively. That said, you can have your foldable’s screen replaced at a much lesser cost if you subscribe to the Samsung Care+ service plan. It costs $12.99 a month and covers up to three out-of-warranty screen repairs per year for a one-time deductible of $249. You also get a two-year warranty extension with Samsung’s Care+ plan. And if you pre-order either of the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and the Galaxy Z Flip 3, you’ll get a 12-month Samsung Care+ subscription for free.
Galaxy Z Fold 3, Flip 3 are incredibly durable for foldables
