A few days ago, Google unveiled its new Pixel 7 and the highly-anticipated Pixel Watch. However, the software updates and improvements that the company brought to Android devices are overshadowed by hardware. One of the new things that is about to come to Android devices is a unified security and privacy panel that prevents users from wandering between multiple menus. As you can see in the screenshot below, the security and privacy sections are now combined. App Security, Find My Device, Security Updates, Device lock, Google Play system update, and more are now available under the Security & Privacy section.

Google creates a hub for security and privacy features

This new section could delight users who are always worried about their privacy as they no longer need to check different settings. You can find everything related to your device’s privacy and security on this page. On the opening page, you can see an overview of the device’s security status and even perform a quick scan to see if everything is working properly. There are also some cards that warn you about a potential threat caused by an app. You can uninstall the threatening app directly from right there. According to Google, the new privacy and security panel is heading to Pixel phones first. Then, other Android devices can get it through updates. The panel was already seen in the Android 13 QPR Beta 2 by tipster Mishaal Rahman. However, it’s not yet available for any device. Google also hasn’t announced a release date. But keep your eyes on future updates. With every new Android version, Google tries to improve the user’s experience and brings some new features to the devices. For example, the company might bring AV1 codec and 64-bit apps to Android 14. However, sometimes these efforts don’t proceed as planned and cause weird bugs, like the current 911 bug in Pixel phones.
