The Chromecast with Google TV is a really good streaming device to pick up for a number of reasons. Firstly, it has Google TV built-in. Which is technically a skin over-top of Android TV. But it does a good job of making it easy to use, easy to find recommendations and easy to find apps. I’d recommend this to parents too. In fact, my parents have two in their home, and absolutely love them. Why? Because it is so easy to use.

This Chromecast comes with a Remote

One of the big complaints people had with the original Chromecast was that there was no remote. You could only Cast from your phone and use that as a remote. And sometimes the Casting just didn’t work, which rendered the Chromecast useless. But now it does have a remote, which is pretty easy to use, and since it is rather thick and round, it makes it tougher to fall in between cushions on the couch. The remote itself is also very easy to use. It has a D-Pad at the top, followed by a back button, Google Assistant button, Home button and mute. Below that are dedicated buttons for Netflix and YouTube. The YouTube button can also be used for YouTube TV instead of YouTube. And finally there are power and input buttons at the bottom. Volume buttons are on the side of the remote, like they are on your phone.
