The announcement came through the company’s official Twitter handle. The event will start at 1 PM CET / 7 AM EST / 4 AM PST. HONOR is using #ThePowerofMagic handle for this launch event.

The HONOR Magic4 flagship series will launch at MWC 2022

Along with the announcement, the company also shared a short teaser video which you can see below. This teaser video does put an emphasis on the camera, so this will likely be a camera-centered flagship(s).

— HONOR (@Honorglobal) February 16, 2022 Do note that more than one phone is expected. HONOR clearly says this is about the Magic4 series, not about a single phone. It also confirms that the devices will support 5G connectivity. This does come as a surprise, though. Why? Well, this event was expected to be about the HONOR Magic V, the company’s first foldable smartphone. It already launched in China, and HONOR suggested it will launch globally as well. When the teasers started coming in, everyone thought of the Magic V first. Truth be said, HONOR did start teasing a new, regular flagship series recently, so we knew that something along those lines is coming. There is still a chance the HONOR Magic V will make an appearance in Barcelona, though, we’ll see.

These phones will launch globally, unlike the Magic3 series

The HONOR Magic4 series didn’t even launch in China yet. The HONOR Magic3 series launched back in August, and truth be said, if not for HONOR’s teaser, we would not have expected the Magic4 series so soon. HONOR seems to be on a rather fast pace when it comes to releasing flagships. Unlike the Magic3 series, the Magic4 series smartphones will become globally available, hence the global launch. Now, not much is known about these devices, we can only assume at this point. HONOR may confirm some details prior to the event, though. Considering these are flagship phones we’re looking at, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 will likely fuel them, at least the Magic4 Pro+, if that’s the name HONOR opts for. It likely will, though, as it did for the Magic3 series. Three phones launched as part of that series, the Magic3, Magic3 Pro and Magic3 Pro+. That’s the naming convention HONOR will likely use this time around as well.
