Before we start, do note that there is no simple way to do this. You cannot navigate to a menu, type in your age, and be done with it. No. You’ll need to jump through hoops here, unfortunately. You’ll need to go deep into TikTok’s menu options, and then submit a government-issued ID, along with a reason for the change. If you’re unwilling to do that, this tutorial won’t do you much good. Unfortunately, that’s the only way to do it, as of now.
How to change your age on TikTok
If you’re ready to get going, you’ll need to open your TikTok app. Presuming you’re logged into your profile, you’ll need to tap the ‘Profile’ icon in the bottom-right corner.
Once your profile opens, you’ll need to navigate to the three horizontal lines in the top-right corner of the screen.
The moment you tap that option, a pop-up menu will appear at the bottom. Only two options will be offered there, and you’ll need to tap the ‘Settings and privacy’ option.
Once a new page opens, navigate to the ‘Support’ section, and choose the first option in there, the ‘Report a problem’ one.
There there, you’ll need to navigate to the ‘Topics’ section, and choose the first option in there, the ‘Account and profile’ option.
Various different sections will appear on the next screen, and we’re here for the ‘Editing profile’ section. Once you tap it, a drop-down menu will appear.
From the drop-down menu, select the ‘Other’ option, which is the last in line.
On the next page, you’ll need to choose the option at the bottom named ‘Need more help?’.
There we go, this is the screen we’ve been after. It takes quite a few taps to get here, but we did it. Now, here you’ll need to offer an explanation for the age change, and attach a government-issued ID. Once you’ve done all that, you’ll be able to tap the ‘Report’ button at the bottom. Do note that offering a reason for the change, without offering a government-issued ID will not work.
