The Kitcast App Works With The Android OS

As you are probably aware, the Kitcast app is a pretty sophisticated piece of software, but it is streamlined and efficient enough to work well on an Android operating system. If you wish to power your digital signs using an Android OS, perhaps through an Android TV box or Android TV, then you will need the Android 5.1 OS, or higher, which most Android devices should have upgraded to already. You also need 1GB of RAM and 8GB of storage space.

Getting The Kitcast App on Your Android TV

Go to the Google Play app marketplace on your Android TV. Search for the Kitcast app, it should be on the marketplace app. However, there are certain countries where the app is not live and/or not easy to find. If that is the case, get in touch with the people from Kitcast for a download link. Get to the app itself and install it. These days, downloading and installing the app just takes a click or two. You may have to agree to some terms and conditions and/or some permissions. Once the app is up and running, you may be asked to enter your password. If you have signed up for a Kitcast account through the website, then enter the password you set. You can try Kitcast for free, so there is no rush trying to get everything set up. You can use your remote and/or your physical keyboard to enter your password. It is no different to entering your Internet password into your TV. Once the app is downloaded and installed, it may ask you for your password (if it hasn’t already), and then the icon will change to “Open.” If you want to find it again, go to your home screen and find the app.

Connecting Your Android Device

Plug your Android device into your TV. You can connect it via a USB cable to your Android device. If you are connecting something like a phone, then you will find it is very similar to connecting your phone to your PC so you can get your photos off. If you are having trouble making a connection, try connecting your Android device and your digital sign or TV to the same Wi-Fi network. On your desktop or mobile device, you will need to download the Kitcast app and the Google Home app (if you don’t have it already). The Google home app allows you to add new devices, which allows you to add your Android device. On your mobile or your tablet device, download and install the Google Home app, and on the app’s screen, you tap “Add” and then select “Set up device.” You then select set up new devices and you can usually make your connection through there. Using your Kitcast app is easy, and you are safe in the knowledge that you can connect your Android device to your desktop device, to your TV or your digital sign. Don’t forget that you are probably going to want to link your digital sign with your desktop device right away. Once you have set up your digital sign with the Kitcast app, you are given a setup code. You can use this code to link your digital sign with your Kitcast app on your desktop device. Again, it seems obvious, but the most common reason why these don’t connect is because either your desktop device or your digital sign/TV is not connected to the Internet.

The Kitcast App is Controlled via Your Device

It is possible to use your Android TV and your Kitcast app to set up and run your digital signs, but if you want the full benefit of Kitcast, then you should install it onto your PC or your laptop. This will give you all the tools you need to create, schedule and run your digital sign content. With your single account, you can add your Kitcast app to your digital sign or TV (be it an Apple or Android operating system), and you can add the app to your phone, tablet or desktop device. When you are all set up on your desktop device, then enter the details of your device and link it to your account. It will involve things like adding a setup code that links your signs directly. They are small-but-simple security measures to help ensure people don’t try to hijack your digital signs.
