ASUS did a great job designing the menu for the ‘Always-on Panel’, that’s for sure. It’s really simple, and easy to understand. It’s also exactly where you’d expect it to be located, so it’s not a problem to find at all. If you’re still having issues, though, we’ll show you exactly how to access it in this article. You’ll find a step-by-step guide below, along with screenshots for each of the steps.
How to utilize the always-on display option on the ASUS ZenFone 9
The very first thing you’ll need to do is access your phone’s settings, of course. You can do that in several ways, but we’ll go for the most obvious one, for the purposes of this tutorial. Swipe up on the homescreen to access your app drawer. Once you’re in the app drawer, you’ll see the ‘Settings’ app/icon. Tap it.
In the settings, find the ‘Display’ menu, that’s the one we’re aiming for.
In the ‘Display’ menu, you’ll need to scroll down until you stumble upon the ‘Standby screen’ section. The first option is ‘Always-on Panel’, which is obviously what we need. You can simply activate it from here via a switch, but it would be best if you tap on the words themselves, so that we can see all the options.
You’ll notice that ASUS offers an explanation of how things work. AOD or AOP in this case, will allow you to check the date and time even when your phone is on standby. You can personalize your AOP panel, and depending on the options, your phone’s battery consumption will be different.
If you scroll further down, you’ll get to the ‘When to display’ section. There are three options here. You can leave your AOD/AOP display on at all times. That will consume the battery the most. You can set it to activate when you tap on the display, it will remain active for 10 seconds. The last option allows you to activate it at a specific time. It’s up to you.
All of this is really easy to understand, so simply choose what suits you most, and that’s it. Once you activate the AOD/AOP option, you’ll also be able to choose clock styles from this menu.
