We already know that this stream is going to be mainly focused on Final Fantasy VII-related announcements and celebration. Since new details for Final Fantasy XVI were already shown off during the most recent PlayStation State Of Play event. Beyond that, there’s likely a few possibilities to explore. If you’re wondering how you can watch the livestream event, and when you’ll be able to tune in, we’ve got you covered.

The Final Fantasy VII 25th anniversary stream kicks off at 3pm PT

Square Enix is holding the stream at 3pm PT on June 16. Which means it happens later this afternoon and should be late enough for most viewers to watch without interruptions. And if you live back east then it’ll already be 6pm so you’re good to go. As for where to watch the event, Square Enix will be hosting the stream on its YouTube and Twitch channels. You can view the Twitch stream here and the YouTube stream in the video below.

What to expect from the event

As noted earlier, since this is a livestream celebrating 25 years of Final Fantasy VII, expect most or all announcements that pop up to be about Final Fantasy VII. With that said, here’s what we think could be showcased.

Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 2

The big reveal everyone seems to be hoping for is any information at all about Final Fantasy VII Remak Part 2. The first part in the series is already over two years old now. Having released on April 10 of 2020. Since that time, Square Enix has released Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade. Which introduced not only the PS5 version of Final Fantasy VII Remake that included better graphics and frame rate, but also the new INTERmission DLC with story content where you play as Yuffie. While we don’t think there’s any reason to expect a release for Final Fantasy VII Remake Part 2 soon, it seems like the best time to at the very least show off some teasers, announcement trailers, or gameplay footage for the second part of the game.

Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis

Many fans seem to be hoping for some sort of announcement revolving around Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII. A beloved game in the Final Fantasy VII universe that came out for the PSP. Rumors suggest that Square Enix could be planning a remake of this title. What we think is more likely is more information about Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis. A mobile game in the Final Fantasy VII universe that Square Enix announced alongside Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier back in 2021. Ever Crisis will be an episodic release. Which means the game is broken up into parts just like the remake. Ever Crisis is also supposed to contain the entire compilation of Final Fantasy VII. Including events of the original game, as well as Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children, Before Crisis: Final Fantasy VII, Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII, and even Dirge Of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII. What’s unclear is how those stories will be worked into the Ever Crisis release. Or how often Square Enix plans to push out the episodes. Square Enix did confirm though that Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis would be released in 2022. However, it hasn’t announced an official date yet. Today seems like as good of a time as any to announce that date. And maybe even show off some new footage. It’s possible of course, that Square Enix could be planning to announce more details on Ever Crisis and a remake of Crisis Core. There’s also a chance Square Enix could have information to share about Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier, which is now in its third season.
