An AVS Forum user has compiled a full list of the Hulu originals that are available to watch in HDR. TV shows include Nine Perfect Strangers, The Handmaid’s Tale, Little Fires Everywhere, Dollface, Hellstrom, The Great, The First, High Fidelity, CastleRock, Wu-Tang, Future Man, Woke, The Looming Tower, The Act, Catch-22, Reprisal, Four Weddings and a Funeral, and The Runaways. Movies with HDR support include Run (2020), Happiest Season, WeWork, Bad Hair, and The United States vs. Billie Holiday. According to Hulu’s official help page, HDR streaming is supported in compatible Roku, Fire TV, Fire TV Stick, Fire TV Cube, Apple TV 4K, Vizio, and Chromecast Ultra devices.

Hulu finally adds HDR support

Hulu does support 4K streaming, though it arrived on this scene later than the competition as well. But HDR still significantly improves the viewing experience than 4K. The latter essentially increases the number of pixels to make images sharper. But it’s mostly noticeable if your TV is huge or you’re closer to the screen. With HDR, you get a higher contrast range that better impacts the depth of colors. This ability is finally here for Hulu subscribers. However, it’s not full-fledged HDR support across all devices and platforms. You might excuse Hulu for offering HDR streaming with only a handful of movies and TV shows. But it’s baffling to see that TVs from Samsung and LG, two of the biggest TV makers in the world, don’t make the cut for the company’s HDR-supported devices. Even the Android TV version of the Hulu app seemingly misses out, and so do mobile devices and consoles. Hopefully, it will not take the company much longer to get these devices and platforms onboard its HDR support list.
