The Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3 got the January 2022 update in several regions, more coming

In regards to the Galaxy Z Fold 3, we’re looking at the firmware version ‘F926BXXS1BUL82’. The update has been spotted in the Caucasus region, Kazakhstan, Russia, and Ukraine. More countries are joining as we speak. In the case of the Galaxy Z Flip 3, we’re looking at the firmware version ‘F711BXXS2BUL8’. The update was spotted in the same regions as the Z Fold 3 update, and it’s also spreading as we speak.

The update for the Galaxy Note 20 series already hit a bunch of regions

The Galaxy Note 20 is a bit of a different store. The firmware versions here are ‘N98xBXXS3EULH’ and ‘N98xFXXS3EULH’, for 5G and LTE variants of the Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra. Do note that the update for the Galaxy Note 20 series has already spread all over the place. In addition to the countries mentioned for the other two phones, this update spread across Europe. The update is now available in Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, The Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Luxembourg, The Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, Southeast Europe, Switzerland, and Uzbekistan as well. As per usual, the update will appear on your phone once it’s available. You can go manually check for it, in the hope to get it a bit sooner. You can go to Settings -> Software update, and then tapping on the ‘Download and install’ option. Do note that this won’t force the update, but it may pull it up sooner than your phone automatically would.

This update fixes 62 vulnerabilities overall

The January 2022 patch fixes dozens of vulnerabilities found in Galaxy smartphones. Based on what Samsung said, it includes 52 fixes from Google, and ten fixes from Samsung. Two of those fixes are critical, while 39 of them are highly prioritized. In other words, you’ll want to install this update as soon as possible.
