With Bally Sports looming bankruptcy, this makes lots of sense
In case you hadn’t heard, Bally Sports’ parent-company, Diamond Sports Group is likely going to be entering bankruptcy in the coming months. That shows how tough it can be to run regional sports networks. Sports are expensive, and that piles on when you are creating an entire network for a single market. Most of these markets are only in one State, so there’s not a whole lot of people that are going to be watching them to begin with. Not to mention, removing them from streaming services was a big mistake. Now the real question is, what does this mean for Bally Sports+ and competitors like YouTube TV and Hulu + Live TV? Could they be getting Bally Sports back on their air in the coming weeks after this fuboTV deal? It’s likely. Diamond Sports Group really needs to start bringing in some money, and Bally Sports+ can only bring in so much. Plus, it’s likely that not many people want to pay $20 per month for a couple of teams. This is definitely good news for the streaming world.
