A key detail to make note of is that JBL is launching the Quantum 350 as a wireless model for $100. This isn’t an unheard of price point for a wireless gaming headset. But, last year’s Quantum models didn’t offer the wireless connectivity option until $150. So essentially JBL is lowering the barrier of entry for gamers to be cable-free.
The JBL Quantum 350 works with PC and PlayStation, but it should work with Xbox too
JBL doesn’t mention Xbox in its announcement. However it should work just fine with Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, in addition to PC, PS4, and PS5. The reason being is that the headset connects wirelessly through a 2.4GHz dongle that plugs into a USB port. The Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One have USB ports. So there should be no issues. This is a wireless-only gaming headset, which means there’s no 3.5mm audio port to plug this in and still use it once the battery dies. Luckily it has a battery life of around 22 hours. So that should be long enough for quite a few gaming sessions of a decent length. What’s more is that JBL says five minutes of charge time will give the headset 1 hour of battery life. So that means you can have it fully charged in just under 2 hours. If you’re using it with PC, then you can also link it to the JBL QuantumSOUND Signature software. Which lets you enhance the sound even further for a more personalized audio experience in your games.
Be heard with the detachable, Discord-certified mic
A big part of gaming online these days is voice chat. Whether it’s your weekly run of a new raid or your Friday night with the team in a fast-paced FPS title. JBL’s new headset comes with a Discord-certified mic. A feature that has been carried over from its 2020 Quantum line. And quite frankly, it’s nice to see that it stuck. Because there are plenty of headsets out there with a less than desirable voice chat experience. The mic is also detachable, so you can easily unplug it for those times where you don’t need voice chat and would rather not have a mic in your face. The Quantum 350 goes on sale this month for $99.95 at select retailers, as well as through JBL’s website.
