Riot Games announced the news today as part of an ongoing partnership with Epic Games. Which sees four of Riot’s titles now available for download in the Epic Games Store. The addition of League Of Legends character Jinx in Fortnite is also in part to promote Riot’s first upcoming animated series on Netflix. Titled Arcane, the show focuses mostly on two pivotal characters. Jinx and her sister Vi. Arcane will air on Netflix on November 6, and will be split into three acts. With the second act releasing on November 13, and the third act releasing on November 20. Jinx’s timely arrival in Fortnite means players will get a chance to scoop her up prior to the show’s release.
Fortnite players can get all kinds of Jinx-themed League Of Legends loot
Jinx will be joining the game as a playable character. But she won’t be alone. In addition to picking her up, players will also be able to grab a ton of Jinx-themed in-game items. Some of these items include an outfit for Jinx based on the Arcane series, a Pow Pow Crusher Pickaxe, Jinxed Spray, Jinx’s Dream Monkey Back Bling, the Playground (instrumental) lobby track, the Wreaking Havoc loading screen, and the Katchoo! loading screen. All of these items will be available in the Fortnite shop once it refreshes its stock at 5PM PST on Thursday, November 4. Riot doesn’t list costs, but players will be able to find out soon enough.
Jinx is the first-ever champion to appear in a non-Riot game
Jinx appearing in Fortnite is a pretty big deal. As she’s the first champion from League Of Legends to appear in a game that’s not owned by Riot. Earlier this week though Riot also announced a partnership with Tencent. That partnership will see characters from League Of Legends join PUBG MOBILE. Although, that won’t be happening until the patch 1.7 update. Which isn’t coming out until mid-November. All of this has to do with what Riot is calling Riot X Arcane. A big celebration revolving around Riot’s games, the Arcane series launch, and “moments that bring us all together.” If you like League Of Legends but it’s not the only game you play, it seems that it’s an exciting time to be a fan of the franchise.
