The June SMR (Security Maintenance Release) began rolling out to Samsung’s Galaxy S22 trio over the weekend. As of this writing, the OTA (over the air) update has hit units in a few Asian countries, including Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand. It comes with firmware version S90xEXXU2AVF9 and is available to all three models. The rollout should expand to other regions, including the US, in the coming days and weeks. Samsung has yet to detail the content of the June SMR. But you can expect fixes for a few dozen of security vulnerabilities here. These monthly updates often patch a handful of critical Android OS issues and this month should be no different. In addition to the June SMR, the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and the Galaxy S22 Ultra may also be getting some other bug fixes, optimizations, and new features. Unfortunately, Samsung hasn’t updated the official update tracker to add the latest release. We will let you know as and when we have more information.

July update is also rolling out to a couple of Samsung mid-rangers

In addition to the Galaxy S22 series flagships, Samsung has also recently started seeding the July security update to a couple of mid-range models — Galaxy A32 and Galaxy A23. The former s receiving the new SMR in the company’s homeland South Korea with firmware version A325NKSU1BVF2. The phone is also picking up some stability improvements with this release. The Galaxy A23, on the other hand, is receiving the July SMR  in Germany and Russia. The update for this Samsung mid-ranger comes with firmware version A235FXXU1AVF3. It may also be getting some stability improvements but we don’t have a changelog to confirm that. The latest security release for both of these mid-range models should expand to other markets soon. Samsung’s July security update didn’t come as early as some of its recent releases. It had made a habit of rolling out the new security patch even before the new month had arrived. Nonetheless, the company has kicked off the party and we expect it to continue adding new models to the ever-growing list throughout this month. We will let keep you updated.
