If you take a look at the graph below, you’ll see that TikTok leads the pack quite comfortably. It is followed by not one, but four Facebook apps. Those apps are Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Facebook Messenger, respectively.

Snapchat is also in the top 10 list, as are Telegram, Google Duo, CapCut, and Google Meet. Both Google Duo and Google Meet are rating quite high here, and the pandemic may have something to do with it. Many people are still having meetings online, and people also communicate heavily via video chat platforms. Social media and messaging platforms are dominating the list, though, that is obvious. Now. Sensor Tower did not only release the top 10 most popular apps, you’ll entice that this is a list of the top 25 apps.

A lot of well-known apps are included on this list

You will see some other, well-known apps are included here. The difference between the 13th and 25th spot is not that big, though. Netflix is here, and the same goes for Spotify, YouTube, Twitter, Pinterest, Picsart, Microsoft Teams, and so on. TikTok is simply unreachable, though. The app has seen around 190 million downloads in the third quarter (July 1 – September 30), based on this report. Facebook is second-placed with around 160 million downloads, and Instagram is at that level as well. WhatsApp has been downloaded around 120 million times, while Facebook Messenger has seen around 110 million downloads. Snapchat, Telegram, Google Duo, and other apps are all well under the 100 million mark. As already mentioned, TikTok has been topping the charts for the last two years, basically. There were a couple of months in which it wasn’t the most downloaded app, but only a couple of them. It remains to be seen how long will that last.
