Tipster Roland Quandt has shared several high-resolution renders of the new Moto E series phone, revealing its design from all angles. And it makes us wonder whether the Moto E30 and Moto E40 are the same phones intended for different markets. They both feature a centered punch-hole display with a rather large chin. The back panel also features the same asymmetrical ridged design, with the Moto batwing logo on the upper half. Both phones include a triple rear camera setup inside an identical rounded rectangular camera housing on the top-left corner. Everything from the position, shape, and size of lenses and the LED flash unit to the 48MP marking are unchanged between the Moto E30 and Moto E40. This also confirms that both phones will feature a 48-megapixel primary camera on the back. Moving on to the edges, we have the volume controls and the power button on the right side, along with a third physical button, which could be a dedicated Google Assistant key. The power button is ridged on both phones. On the left, we have the SIM tray. A USB Type-C port, microphone, and a speaker grille sit at the bottom while a 3.5mm headphone jack is at the top. Motorola has tucked the earpiece grille onto the frame on the front of both phones. All in all, the alleged Moto E30 and Moto E40 look too identical from the outside to be two different phones. But there’s always the possibility that they feature different sets of internals.

Moto E30, Moto E40 specifications

If the Moto E30 and Moto E40 are two different phones, then they have to differ in terms of specs. And a Geekbench listing last month did suggest a few differences. The Moto E30 will likely be an entry-level model as it gets only 2GB of RAM. The Moto E40, on the other hand, comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. Both models run Android 11 Go Edition out of the box, with a UNISOC processor under the hood. While the Moto E40 gets the UNISOC T700, the Moto E30 could settle for something less powerful. Unfortunately, we don’t yet know much of the specs of this phone. So we can’t say for sure how different it is from the Moto E40. We expect things to get clearer in the coming weeks as Motorola gears up for the two phone’s launches. We will keep you updated on this.
