TechnikNews reveals (via) that this phone has the internal codename of Yukon, adding that it will release in China under the “Motorola Edge S30” moniker. This upcoming flagship will reportedly release in November 2021, so we don’t have to wait too long to get official confirmation.
The Moto G200 will feature a 108-megapixel primary rear camera
In the hardware department, the Moto G200 5G is packing a Full HD+ display with a refresh rate of 144Hz. However, the screen dimensions are unknown. Customers will also find a triple rear camera layout comprising a 108-megapixel primary rear camera along with a 13-megapixel ultrawide/macro sensor and a 2-megapixel depth sensor provided by OmniVision. The Moto G200 5G will also have a 16-megapixel front camera. Additionally, the phone will sport the octa-core Snapdragon 888 chipset, accompanied by 8GB of RAM. Motorola will launch the phone with Android 11 and not Android 12. Pricing information is unavailable at the moment. The Snapdragon 888 is no longer the preferred chipset for flagship phones, particularly since the arrival of the Snapdragon 888+. Moreover, upcoming flagships such as the Galaxy S22 would use the Snapdragon 898, effectively rendering older Qualcomm chips obsolete. Taking this into account, it’s likely that Moto will change a couple of things before its release. Based on this report, the Moto G200 will likely make its debut in China next month, followed by neighboring regions and eventually Europe as we head into 2022. Given that there’s no mention of a U.S. release in this leak, we can surmise that the company currently has no plans for a Stateside release. However, this could change at a later date. Moto is no longer the force it used to be in the smartphone industry. This is primarily due to the company focusing more aggressively on low-cost and mid-range offerings. We recently came across the Moto G51 5G, seemingly a successor to the Moto G50 5G, which made its debut in August this year. The phone made its first appearance on a Geekbench listing, running on the Snapdragon 750G chipset. This would be a considerable change from the predecessor, which used the MediaTek Dimensity 700 chip. The Moto G51 5G was also shown to be featuring 4GB of RAM and Android 11. The Lenovo-owned phone maker is likely to share more details on this over the next few weeks.
