The newly signed partnership comes after Qualcomm revealed a new AptX Lossless Bluetooth audio tech as part of Snapdragon Sound. This new tech could likely debut with an upcoming audio product produced by Nothing.

Pei is also the co-founder and former chief of OnePlus. He left the company in 2020 and later co-founded Nothing. Subsequently, the company struck strategic partnerships with retailers in key markets like India. Nothing could leverage a wide range of Qualcomm’s chipsets for its upcoming audio accessories. However, it’s unclear if the company will stick to earbuds or move to other segments like smartphones or smart speakers. “By combining the power and efficiency of Snapdragon mobile platforms with 5G connectivity across many different categories of devices, we are fostering the development of innovative products that are intended to benefit consumers and deliver richer, more immersive experiences,” said Enrico Salvatori, Senior VP, and President, Qualcomm Europe/MEA. The manufacturer said that it shipped more than 100,000 units of its ear (1) TWS earbuds globally within two months of release. The ear (1) managed to strike a chord with the masses thanks to its unconventional look. Nothing stressed the fact that it is aiming for transparency, which was apparent from the earbuds’ carrying case as well. Internally, the ear (1) used an 11.6mm driver, developed with the assistance of experts from Teenage Engineering. The ear (1) also supports the latest Bluetooth 5.2 standard for better range and battery performance.
