You can now use voice assistants on the Nothing ear (1) earbuds

Voice assistants are present in so many devices lining our walls and our pockets. They’ve become such a big part of most techies’ lives because of their sheer utility. This is why being able to access them using your earbuds is such a sought-after thing. One thing that the Nothing ear (1) earbuds have been missing was access to voice assistants. However, that’s no longer the case. The company recently posted a tweet that read “Yeah, it’s time to say hey to Google and Siri.” It also started the tweet out by saying “Alexa, Play ‘Nothing Else Matters.’” This means that the Nothing ear (1) earbuds will be able to access any of the three main voice assistants: Google Assistant, Alexa, and Siri. This is surprising news, as the company originally stated that it didn’t plan on having support for voice assistants on the Nothing ear (1) earbuds. Well, it’s good that the company had a change of heart, as having an assistant really augments the whole experience. Being able to use either Google Assistant or Siri will, of course, depend on the operating system you’re using. Alexa, on the other hand, is a free agent and can be used on either platform. Once you install the firmware update (version 0.6700.1.86) you’ll be able to access the assistants with a triple-tap gesture.

In other Nothing News: Nothing has four new devices in the works

We know Nothing as the company that gave us the super light earbuds, but that’s it. The company is still new, and thus, it’s still building up its arsenal of gadgets. According to recent reports, that is what Nothing is planning on doing. We got news that Nothing is currently working on releasing four new devices down the line. We’re not sure what these devices will be, but we do know that the company hired a dedicated design director. Nothing hired Adam Bates who worked as a design director at Dyson for 14 years. We expect to see his influence on the future Nothing devices. Right now, there’s no word on what these will be or when they will come out. Hopefully, we will get some sort of announcement soon. The year is still just starting, so who knows what we’ll see?
