The OnePlus 7 & 7T series phones are getting the May 2022 update

Those are basically the only two entries in the changelog. Do note that OnePlus has been rolling out bi-monthly security updates for the OnePlus 7 and 7T series devices over the last couple of months. What is interesting, is that this is not exactly a bi-monthly update. Those devices already got the April 2022 security patch, so we expected the June one to arrive. OnePlus opted to release the May security patch as well. This update has started rolling out in all regions where the devices are available, by the way. OnePlus tends to start with one or several regions, but in this case, it’s rolling out everywhere. The update is rolling out OTA (Over-The-Air), and your phone will let you know once it’s available. You can try and speed things up by manually checking whether an update is available, of course. You can do that via your phone’s Settings.

This update is rolling in stages, so it won’t reach every phone immediately

This update is marked as OxygenOS 11.0.8.1, and unless OnePlus spots any major bugs, it should be rolled out to everyone soon. This is a staged rollout, though, so it won’t roll out to all phones at once, it may take some time. Another thing to note is that the EU OnePlus 7 Pro has been left behind, notes XDA Developers. That device is stuck on November 2021 security patch. So, we’re not sure if this update will be reaching it or not. We’ll have to wait and see. Other EU models are good to go, though.
