OnePlus has plans to make OxygenOS 13 better

OnePlus and OPPO announced their merger, and OxygenOS fans got worried. They feared that ColorOS would take over OxygenOS. Thankfully, that won’t be the case. Pete Lau himself confirmed this piece of information and said that OnePlus will continue to develop OxygenOS for its devices. OnePlus announced an Open Ear Forum (OEF) to discuss its plans for improving the OxygenOS 13 software. Now, in a new post, OnePlus has revealed some of its plans for OxygenOS 13 that show the areas the company is actively looking to improve. According to the post, the development of OxygenOS 13 is well underway. However, the company wanted to work with the loyal OnePlus fans to bring hand-in-hand development to OxygenOS 13.

OnePlus also admitted that the rollout of OxygenOS 12 didn’t go according to plan

OnePlus didn’t disclose any features that it’s working on for OxygenOS 13. However, it also did not keep its fans in total darkness. It is understandable as well because the features of OxygenOS 13 are under NDA (non-disclosure agreement). In the forum, the company posted some follow-up actions for OxygenOS 13. Feedback from OnePlus fans prompted these actions. It plans to improve UI personalization and consistency. It’ll also improve system consistency and optimize some functions path. OxygenOS 13 will add more features to the AOD like Music Player. Zen Mode will be optimized to provide users with a more immersive and efficient experience. Rounding out the list, OnePlus plans to maintain positive communication with its users. The company also did not shy away from admitting the fact that the rollout of the Android 12-based OxygenOS 13 didn’t go according to the plan. OnePlus said that it will try to improve the rollout in the coming days going forward with OxygenOS 12. It also added that the company, along with improving the rollout of the updates, will also work on improving the software build quality. When the million-dollar question of the relation between OnePlus and OPPO was asked, OnePlus said that both OxygenOS and ColorOS are two different skins with their own identity. OnePlus said that in order to face strong competition in the market, combining the best features of both OSs will only leverage the strengths of both OPPO and OnePlus. Teams from both OS’s are ready to collaborate and will build OS products together.
