Ice Universe claims that Samsung has shifted its focus on profit, and that it plans to innovate less. That may sound harsh, but that’s what the tipster claims. Samsung is a huge company after all, and profit is important, of course. Samsung is the king of the foldable smartphone market, and it really does offer compelling products in that regard. The Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3 are great products, and Samsung is planning to release their successors next year. This doesn’t mean that Samsung is not developing a rollable phone, though, of course. The company most certainly is, but it’ll likely be more careful when it comes to launching it. Truth be said that doesn’t sound like Samsung, as the company likes to innovate, but we’ll see.

Some sources managed to get their hands on it, but it never became available. OPPO didn’t feel like it was ready for primetime. The company apparently came a lot close to offering such a phone to the general public, though. OPPO is said to be preparing one such device for 2022, and you’ll be able to get it. The company announced its very first foldable smartphone a couple of days ago. That device is quite compelling, especially for the company’s first foldable. OPPO has been developing it for years, and has scrapped a number of prototypes along the way.
