Today, Google has laid out a blog post that describes the improvements it’s made to Android security with Pixel 6 and Android 12. Though, this is more specifically focused on the Pixel 6 hardware than Android 12. And further focused more on the security advancements made to Pixel thanks to its custom Tensor core. Because of this custom SoC, the security of Google’s latest phones uses a “layered approach.” Meaning that it starts at the Tensor core and ends at Google’s data centers....

Let’s refresh your memory on what this phone’s packing. Google partnered with Samsung to produce its own custom SoC called the Tensor chip. This is what’s currently powering the Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, and Pixel 6a. It’s Google’s first custom chip, and it’s able to give these phones flagship performance despite lagging behind with its benchmark scores. This year, the company announced that it put a second-generation Tensor chip in the Pixel 7 phones, and we’re expecting this to be a more capable processor....

TikTok Chief Operating Officer (COO) Vanessa Pappas Monday shared a video thanking users “a billion” for making the platform “a truly special place.” The company also published a blog post announcing the milestone achievement. “We’re honored to be a home for our immensely diverse community of families, small businesses, and creators who transform into our favorite stars,” TikTok said in the blog post. “Thank you for making this journey so special....

Notably, TikTok has added a new screen time control feature. This feature will remind users of the TikTok app to take a break if they are spending an extended amount of time on the application. The Motorola Razr 3 launch timeframe tipped, coming soon As most of you know, Motorola didn’t announce its Razr-branded foldable last year. It skipped 2021 entirely. The Motorola Razr arrived in November 2019, while the Motorola Razr 5G followed in September 2020. Based on how late in the year the first two phones arrived, we’re guessing that the Razr 3 could arrive in September. July and August are still a possibility, of course, perhaps the company decided to change things up....

More specifically, the lawsuit is in response to Google’s proposed policy change which will come into effect on June 1, 2022. This policy change would require all developers in the Android ecosystem to process payments for their “digital goods and services” via the Play Store billing system. This shift was quite unpopular when it was first announced. In response, Google delayed its implementation from September 30, 2021, to June 1, 2022....

TSMC says its initial 3nm mass production is returning “good yields”. The company expects the 3nm semiconductor technology to create products with a market value of $1.5 trillion within the next five years. Samsung has already begun its 3nm mass production. But it is reportedly struggling with yield rates and doesn’t plan to start making 3nm smartphone processors until next year. Its Taiwanese rival didn’t specify when it will churn out smartphone chipsets using its most advanced process technology....

The Wall Street Journal originally brought news of this price hike. TSMC will be raising its advanced chips by 10%. The less advanced products will see a hike of 20%.
