If you use this to charge your laptop, don’t expect it to be able to charge it while you are using it. As there’s simply not enough juice going in. Now, yes, this does come with a USB-C to Lightning cable as Anker is marketing this to iPhone users. But that doesn’t mean you need to use it. The charger is still USB-C and can be used with any phone. This wall adapter is backwards compatible with older, and slower smartphones that may not offer fast charging. Which is going to be good for most people too. It also boasts Anker’s Power IQ 3.0 technology, allowing it to quickly charge your phone, even if it doesn’t technically support fast charging. Anker PowerPort III Nano is going to be a great wall charger to take on the go. And that’s because it is a pretty small charger. The reason for it being so small, despite offering USB-C PD connectivity, it because of Gallium Nitride or GaaN. The reason for using Gallium Nitride, is that it can keep the charger cooler, while using less space, compared to Silicone. Which is what every other charger for the past few decades has used. It means that we can get smaller and more powerful chargers. And that’s always a great thing. This 18W charger is actually about the size of the 5W charger that Apple includes in the boxes with its iPhones (until recently).
