Usually, Pixel phones are early to get the latest security patches, but there was something askew with Pixel 6 phones on Verizon’s network. The update was marked as available back on the 12th of September. However, barely anyone using those phones actually picked up the update. It was so bad that it almost looked like either Google or Verizon delayed the update.

After about two weeks of waiting, the September update is coming to Verizon Pixel 6 phones

Now, at the end of the month basically, the update has finally come to the Verizon customers. If you use a Pixel 6 or Pixel 6 Pro on Verizon, you should either have the update or you’re in line to get it. To check, go to your settings and scroll down to the System settings page. There, go to the System Update page to see if you have the update. You’ll want to tap on the Check for updates button on the bottom right of the screen. Your phone will then do a quick search for the update. If it says that your system is up-to-date, then you’ll want to wait a bit for it. The update has the version number TP1A.220905.004.A1, and it’s the first update since Android 13 went official last month. Thus, this is a pretty important one. If there are any bugs in the system that came along with the official Android 13 update, they could be squashed with this update. This is why you should promptly install the update when it hits your phone. It’s also important because it also brings the latest batch of security patches that help keep your phone safe.
