The report adds that the 108-megapixel sensor for the Galaxy A73 will be supplied by MCNEX and Samsung Electro-Mechanics. Meanwhile, Partron also has a 108-megapixel sensor of its own, but it does not have OIS technology. The Galaxy A73 is also rumored to be running on the Snapdragon 730 chipset with 6/8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Samsung has historically offered decent cameras with the Galaxy A series. The company reportedly wants to bring OIS to all 2022 Galaxy A phones. The 108-megapixel camera could fit right into this equation. In addition to offering a better camera, Samsung will also have the advantage of staying ahead of its rivals. However, it won’t take long for fellow manufacturers to catch up to the trend. The new lineup of Galaxy A phones is still some months away from launch. Some reports have mentioned an end of 2021 timeline for the Galaxy A73’s release. While Samsung’s high-end offerings gather the most attention, the company’s mid-range offerings make up for a significant chunk of its sales. Earlier this year, the South Korean juggernaut unveiled its lineup of five Galaxy A phones with three of them featuring 5G. The Galaxy A02s and the Galaxy A12 are in the budget smartphone segment whereas the Galaxy A32 5G, Galaxy A42 5G, and Galaxy A52 5G are on top of the hierarchy thanks to their 5G credentials. This comes as the company had to suspend production of at least one mid-range phone due to the chip shortage. The situation could improve over the next few months as the global semiconductor supply improves.
