The Galaxy A52s 5G is picking up the June SMR (Security Maintenance Release) in several Asian and European countries, including Taiwan, Germany, Switzerland, the Netherlands, and the UK. The rollout will be available to users in more regions within a few days. The new firmware version for the phone is A528BXXS1CVF1. This update likely doesn’t bring anything else to the Galaxy A52s 5G apart from the security fixes for this month. The device is arguably the best value-for-money Samsung smartphone from 2021, as have been all other Galaxy A5x models over the years. It arrived running Android 11 in August last year and received Android 12 earlier this year. The premium mid-ranger will receive two more Android OS updates, i.e. Android 13 and Android 14, in its lifetime. Joining the Galaxy A52s 5G at Samsung’s June SMR party today is the Galaxy A32 5G, another mid-range hone from 2021. This device is picking up the latest security update in South Korea with firmware version A326KKSU3BVF1. Along with the security fixes, the phone is also gaining a “Disallow all” option for app installation from unknown sources. This feature has rolled out to several other Galaxy models, including flagships, over the past few weeks. The June update for the Galaxy A32 5G should expand to other markets, including the US, in the coming days.

The Galaxy A52s 5G and A32 5G also receive the June update

As Samsung confirmed earlier this month, the June SMR contains fixes for about 70 vulnerabilities. These include Android bugs as well as other issues that only affect the Korean company’s Galaxy smartphones and tablets. Some of the bugs are rated “critical” in terms of severity, i.e. the potential to cause damage to users if exploited in the wild. All Galaxy A52s 5G and Galaxy A32 5G users globally should be getting the June security update over the next few days or weeks. You will receive a notification once the OTA (over the air) package becomes available for your unit. You can also manually check for updates, though. Simply open the Settings app, go to the Software update section, and tap on Download and install.
