One UI 4.0 was rumored throughout the second half of last year, and it finally came into the limelight soon after Android 12 launched. Since One UI 4 was built to run under Android 12, any Galaxy phone with Android 12 has that Galaxy skin. The only phones to use One UI version 4.1 are the Galaxy S22 phones.
One UI 4.1 is coming to more Galaxy phones
That, however, is about to change, as the company announced some good news. According to a Samsung Newsroom post, One UI 4.1 is coming to more Galaxy devices in the near future. These devices included the Galaxy S21 phones, which should come as no surprise; that’s been rumored since last month. Along with those phones, the latest foldables (the Galaxy Z Fold3 and the Galaxy Z Flip3), the latest Galaxy A series phones, and the Galaxy Tab S7 FE are set to get the update. After that batch of updates, Samsung will release it to another collection of devices. These will be the Galaxy Z Fold2 5G/Fold 5G/Fold, and the Galaxy Z Flip 5G/Z Flip. As for the Note phones, the update will land on the Note20, Note20 Ultra, Note10+ 5G, and Note 10+. Rounding out the list, the update will land on the Galaxy S10e, S10, S10+, and S10 5G. There’s no word on when it will hit these devices exactly.
What does this update bring?
One UI 4.1 will bring some more features to the already feature-packed software. For starters, Google Duo will have live sharing. This feature lets you share your screen with the other party while you’re on a call. This feature works with apps like YouTube, the Samsung Gallery, Google Maps, and Samsung Notes. The Expert Raw app that’s been hitting the headlines will finally hit those devices with the update. This is a separate camera app that gives users more control over their photos. This is for people who want to take their photography to the next level. Taking a note from Google’s book, this new version of One UI 4 will bring in Object Eraser. Using this tool, you’ll be able to select objects in your photos to erase. There are other changes to the software like automatic image adjustments, Quick Share, and a Grammarly-powered keyboard to look forward to.
