According to the official changelog, the Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic units enrolled in the One UI Watch 4.5 Beta program will no longer reset after Tile backup. Several users reported this issue following previous beta updates. The bug that caused the system UI to crash when users pushed the Home button during scrolling has also been fixed. Samsung has also patched a problem with music playback via Bixby. Additionally, the Bluetooth connection problem that occurred when running the gallery app should no longer exist following this update. As for feature improvements, Samsung says the third One UI Watch 4.5 Beta build for the Galaxy Watch 4 duo should improve wearing detection accuracy. Automatic exercise detection should also function better and so do the recognition rate of the wrist-up gesture during bicycle exercises. The changelog further mentions usability improvements for the Alarm, Stopwatch, Timer, and World Clock apps. Samsung also promises lesser power consumption during automatic switching of compatible Galaxy Buds. Last but not least, this update contains touch performance stabilizations and other minor improvements.

Galaxy Watch 4 series gets another beta update

The latest One UI Watch 4.5 Beta update for the Galaxy Watch 4 series started rolling out over the weekend. It should be available to all users who have enrolled their Samsung smartwatch in the beta program. You will get a notification from the Galaxy Wearable app on a connected smartphone. You may also manually check for updates by heading to the Galaxy Watch 4 plugin in the Galaxy Wearable app and then navigating to Settings > Watch software update > Download and install. Note that you must have the latest version (2.2.11.22063011) of the Galaxy Watch 4 plugin installed on your smartphone. You can check for an update for the app, which is part of the Galaxy Wearable app and requires the latter to work, in the Google Play Store here. Depending on your model, this beta update for the Galaxy Watch 4 series weighs around 250MB over the air (OTA). That’s a pretty big update and the changelog mentions a lot too. Hopefully, Samsung is nearing the stable release of One UI Watch 4.5 for its smartwatches. We will let you know when the rollout out begins.
