The Android 13-based One UI 5.0 update for Samsung’s Galaxy A13 5G is already available widely in Europe. The new firmware version for the phone is A136BXXU2BVK3 (via). The company should cover all eligible units in other regions, including the US, over the next couple of weeks. The update should also soon reach the 4G-only version of the phone. This update contains plenty of exciting changes for Galaxy A13 5G users. Samsung has updated its UI and improved system animations for a smoother navigation experience. The company has also introduced new customization tools and several new features for cameras, Samsung Internet, Bixby Routines, and other stock apps and services. It has improved privacy and security as well. On top of this, the Galaxy A13 5G is also picking up the November security patch. Samsung says last month’s SMR (Security Maintenance Release) patches more than 60 vulnerabilities.

The Galaxy A13 5G gets its second major Android update a year into its launch

Samsung launched the Galaxy A13 5G in early December last year. It arrived as the company’s cheapest 5G smartphone yet and still holds the title in some markets. But disappointingly, the handset came running Android 11 out of the box, which wasn’t a very laudable move from the company as Android 12 has been already out then. Nonetheless, the budget phone picked up Android 12 earlier this year. And as it completes a year into the market, Samsung has also rolled out Android 13 to the Galaxy A13 5G. It is likely the final major Android OS update for the phone. If you’re using this phone in Europe, you should receive Android 13 very soon. Perhaps it may already be waiting for you. Go to the Settings app, scroll down to the Software update menu, and tap on Download and install to check for updates. Users in other regions will also get the new Android version in the coming days. Watch out for a notification or manually check for an update from the Settings app. Since it’s a major update, we advise you to download the OTA (over the air) package over an unmetered Wi-Fi network. Stay tuned for the Android 13 rollout information about other Samsung Galaxy devices.
