The moderator, who is responsible for handling camera-related information on the forum, didn’t reveal any dates or name any devices. They simply said that the company will announce the availability of Camera Assistant for more Galaxy devices once the app exits beta testing. “We will try to support as many models as possible,” they added. During the initial launch of Camera Assistant for the Galaxy S22 series in October, Samsung said that it plans to expand the app to more Galaxy devices in the future. The latest comments by the forum moderator are a further commitment to that. Some features may be missing on certain devices depending on the camera hardware, processing power, and other factors. But we expect this app to be available for a lot more Galaxy devices than the Expert RAW. The latter is limited to high-end flagship models.

Camera Assistant unlocks a host of new camera features on Galaxy devices

The Camera Assistant app unlocks a host of features that don’t exist on the stock camera app on your Galaxy device. For starters, it lets you disable Auto HDR if you want everything to look natural in your shot. Should you want to smoothen or soften the texture of the face and hair, you get that option as well. You also get “Auto Lens Switching,” which is pretty much self-explanatory. This feature enables your phone to automatically switch to the right camera depending on the distance of the subject and factors like lighting. To ensure that you don’t miss the perfect moment, Camera Assistant allows you to record videos in Photo Mode. You can long-press the shutter button to start recording. You no longer need to switch to Video Mode. This app also captures multiple shots when you’ve set a timer. Meanwhile, Quick Shooting mode takes as many as seven photos in a second. Last but not least, if you connect an external display via HDMI, the app can remove all buttons and menus for a clean preview screen. Unlike Expert RAW, which is a standalone camera app for flagship Galaxy models, Camera Assistant is part of Samsung’s Good Lock suite. If you’re using a Galaxy S22 phone, you can click the button below to download the app from the Galaxy Store. Stay tuned for more information on its availability for other Galaxy devices.
