Clever tech enthusiasts have been able to load different operating systems onto different devices. One person was actually able to load Windows 11 on a Google Pixel 6 Pro. There are enormous technical feats like that, and there are cases where people put Wordle on a GameBoy. However, these are just experiments to see if it could be done. So, don’t expect to edit videos using Adobe Premiere on a Pixel 6 running Windows 11 anytime soon.

A person put Windows 11 on a Surface Duo 2 to

A user by the name of Gustav monce posted some videos and photos showing his Surface Duo 2 running the Windows 11 operating system. As you can imagine, it’s not 100% stable or usable. It states that the operating system is running on one CPU core. It says that UFS works and can display it. However, as you can see in the video, the phone only displays the software on one screen. You’re not seeing only half of the software, however. Instead, everything is compressed to display on one side.

Microsoft outlined some strict technical spec requirements for Windows 11 last year. So, the operating system being able to run on an ARM-based mobile platform is really really something. In the tweet, he stated that there’s still a long way to go. This means that he is still working on improvements, and we may see some more functionality down the line. However, we can’t deny that there’s definitely a hard ceiling that the processor will hit. This is still mobile silicon we’re talking about, so, we’re not sure how far it can go before it’s peaked. The same Twitter user was able to load Windows 11 on his first-generation Surface Duo back in March 2022. Much like this time around, it only displayed on one screen. So, we’re going to have to wait to see what else this user does with Windows 11 on these mobile devices.
