This time around, Sonos is changing up how the lamp is sold. You can buy the lamp base separately from the lampshade. Which is very common for Ikea, where you can mix and match the base with the lampshade. Which is pretty neat. The options this time around, include a black or white base. And then the lampshades are available in an opaque glass shade, and a translucent black glass shade. There’s also a textile lampshade that is available in black or white. These are open-ended lamp shades, which really changes up the look of the Symfonisk Lamp Speaker. With the Symfonisk Lamp Speaker, you can still opt to switch out the lightbulb and perhaps add a smart bulb. It still uses E26 or E27 light bulbs. That also means that it won’t be bright enough to light up an entire room. This is better for using as a table lamp or even beside your bed. It will still work seamlessly with other Sonos speakers. So you can use it for a multi-room audio setup. It’s not quite on the same level as the Sonos One speaker. It’ll be a little quieter than that. But you’ll be quite surprised at how good it sounds.

How much is the Symfonisk Lamp Speaker and when can I buy it?

The Sonos Symfonisk Lamp Speaker is available for around $169. It breaks down to the base being about $140. When the glass lampshade costing you $39, or the textile lampshade costing you $29. It’s about the same price as the original Symfonisk speaker too. It’ll be available on October 12, in select European markets. So we would expect it to be similar in other markets, or maybe a bit later.
