And not everyone has to sit back and watch. Google allows Party Stream to support other players too. So, for example, you and three friends could be playing a game, and the remaining people in the party can watch. What’s more, any number of people could play or watch as part of the stream, as long as the game supports however many people want to play.
Party Stream rolls out to Stadia beginning today
Google says the feature will begin rolling out to subscribers today, and that all users should have access to it within the next week or so. While using the Party Stream feature, everyone in the party can talk to each other through the party chat. Which itself supports interaction through text, voice, and emoji. Party Stream also alerts you when people start watching your session, and you’ll see that alert show up in the top left corner of your screen while playing. These alerts also show up for messages and interactions.
Look out for the improved streaming experience
Party Stream isn’t the only new feature arriving. Google is also improving the existing streaming experience by adding another new feature to the service. The ability to switch between games without ending your stream. This new feature, which Google says will start rolling out today as well, will let you start playing a game, start the stream, then switch to a new game while keeping the stream active. Previously you had to end the stream and restart it. You can even swap to playing a new game on a totally different device while the stream continues. Making the notion of streaming on Stadia even more versatile. This is also expected to be available for all users within a week’s time.
