What’s coming to Tasker with Android 13, as of now?

Now, Tasker has already been reported as among those apps that will fully support Material You theming when Android 13 arrives. But now it’s possible to catch a glimpse of what that’s going to look like. As might be expected, the Material You theming applies to the Tasker icon, as it will be found on the new OS version. Namely, it clears away the usual colors used for the lighting bolt-shaped icon. In their place, the theme selected by the system shows through. The teaser video below shows that the icon appears more consistent compared to Google’s own themed icons. That should help make customization better overall for end-users. At least compared to how apps currently look alongside those in Android 12. Perhaps more interestingly, Tasker is also showing off the UI for turning Tasker automation into Quick Tiles. Android 13 will allow developers to create easy-access functionality for their apps. Specifically with the UI that appears when they swipe down from the notification shade. The Tasker app takes that a step further. It allows tiles to be customized by end-users. That means that end-users will be able to incorporate whatever action they like as a Quick Tile. That’s so long as that action is supported by Tasker. All with the same color-changing Material You UI as found in the icons. Albeit with the color scheme chosen for the system-level UI, rather than just the icons.
