As a heads up, there’s still a bit of a wait before you can play the game. Nintendo says Tears of the Kingdom will be landing on Nintendo Switch next May. That puts it a good eight months away from now, but for fans it should be worth the wait. If the latest trailer for the game is anything to go by, Nintendo is surely drumming up as much hype as it can for the sequel.

The Legend Of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom releases on May 12, 2023

May 12 “may” be a long ways off but Switch owners have plenty to tide them over until then. Xenoblade Chronicles 3 provides stellar gameplay for JRPG fans. And those who grew up with or at the very least experienced GoldenEye 007 on the N64 will get to play the critically acclaimed shooter on Switch soon. Though Nintendo didn’t mention a specific release date for it. Nintendo also hasn’t made the upcoming Zelda title available for pre-order. Which isn’t too hard to believe given the length of time between now and the game’s release. Still, the excitement for it is understandably high. The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild was not only an insanely huge hit with fans, it was also released more than five years ago. And by the time Tears of the Kingdom releases it’ll have been six years. That’s quite a wait for a follow-up game and players are chomping at the bit for more. Though in the grand scheme of things, 6 years seems like a drop in the bucket compared to some follow-up games. It famously took Blizzard eleven years to release a follow-up to Diablo II after the launch its Lord Of Destruction expansion. Which is almost double the time of Tears of the Kingdom. So when you think about it, six years isn’t all that bad. Right?
