A new report from 9To5Google states that a “source familiar with the matter” says Google will offer at least seven straps for the Pixel Watch. This would more or less match up with the information found in the trademark filing. Earlier this year, Google filed for a Pixel Watch trademark. In the trademark documentation, Google mentions smartwatch straps and bands. What’s more is that it directly mentions straps made from various materials. Including leather, metal, plastic, silicone, and rubber. Now this doesn’t mean Google will release straps made of every one of those materials. But it does suggest that Google was planning to offer choices. And this new report seems to support that information. It also mentions a handful of specific options that might be available.

Google may not release all Pixel Watch straps at launch

It isn’t clear yet which straps Google is planning to offer with the watch right at launch. In fact it’s possible not all of them will be available right away. Some of the straps may even be from accessories partners and not Google themselves. But there is some information that’s surfaced which points to what to expect. Google is said to be working on at two leather straps, a link bracelet, a fabric band, a stretch band, a silicone band, and stainless steel mesh band. Most of the options mentioned have no further details. But the stainless steel mesh band is said to have a magnetic clasp for easy and convenient closure around the wrist. The stainless steel mesh band is also said to come in colors that match the case colors for the watch. Which means three options. Silver, black, and gold. Unfortunately, there’s no information on color choices for the rest of the straps and bands. Prices and availability are also unclear at this time.
