This is a 4K ultra-short-throw projector that can project up to a 150-inch display, and be less than 18 inches from the wall. Or about 120-inches when it is 11.7-inches from the wall. That is pretty close, and pretty impressive too. It is a 4K Ultra HD projector with 80% of the DCI-P3 color range and boasts about 1.07 billion colors. Giving you a really incredible picture, especially for a projector. Typically, projectors image quality is not that great. On top of that, it’s also plenty bright, coming in at 2400 ANSI lumens. That’s going to be bright enough to use in a room that is well lit, and still, be able to see the picture. So there’s that.
It runs on Android TV with Chromecast Built-In available
Like some other projectors out there, the XGIMI Aura does run on Android TV. But it also has support for Chromecast, so you can Cast your favorite content to this device as well. There are over 5,000 apps available for Android TV. Including HBO MAX, Disney+, YouTube and others. However, what we notice is that on XGIMI’s website, it does not mention Netflix, which likely means that it is not available. Like with many other projectors that use Android TV, Netflix is not available due to the way it certifies Android TV devices. Basically, it needs to sell a million units before it can certify the app for the device. So you’ll likely need to sideload it. This is something that Netflix really needs to rethink, with how popular projectors are getting these days. There’s plenty of connectivity available on the XGIMI Aura too. So if you watch a lot of Netflix, you could plug in a Chromecast with Google TV, an Apple TV, or even a Roku and get it. There are three HDMI 2.0 ports available, 3 USB 2.0 ports, a headphone jack, and of course WiFi and Bluetooth are here. Finally, the speakers on the XGIMI Aura are tuned by Harman Kardon, so you’re going to get a really good audio experience here, but no Dolby Atmos unfortunately. Surprisingly, the XGIMI Aura is actually available to buy now for $2,499. Normally CES products don’t even have release dates. At this price, it seems to be a really good package.
